Loki killed 80 people? WHEN?

So, when did this happen in the movie? We see Loki take out a couple of SHIELD mooks at the beginning and brainwash a couple others, but then he leaves. If you mean blowing up the facility, that one was on Fury. We never see Loki go on this mass killing spree at all.
Next we see him after his escape, he's chilling with his minions and making an evil plan. He stabs the eye out of one more guy and blows up a car and is then captured.
He killed people, yes, but nowhere near 80. Furthermore, if he did this offscreen and SHIELD somehow knew it was him....why not go get him instead of waiting for his big appearance at Germany?
Also, how casual the characters are about it. Black Widow talks as if she barely cares, the others don't address it at all and Thor's reaction is to crack a joke. Which is...dude, it's 80 PEOPLE! I know Marvel Movies are all comedies but still...at least have the heroes address this instead of cracking a joke about it and then dropping it completely for more jokes.
I mean, dude, even without the city attack and mass killings from the Chitauri, that is a huge kill count.
Next movie? Loki is plucky comedy relief and it's barely addressed aside from a slap by Jane and a bit of prison time.

I just find the line pointless, is all.

  1. Honestly I never took that comment seriously. I just considered it as Whedon's brand of black comedy. I mean it's not like Loki's The Master or anything

  2. Of course not, we all know how indecisive the Master was.
