An opinion on Spectacular Spider-Man's Symbiote Saga Misstep

The hospital scene in Spectacular Spider-Man's Symbiote Saga was frakking stupid.
Think about it, the Symbiote fed off of NEGATIVE emotions, and, on the worst day of your life, a seemingly sociopathic bully getting in your face and trying to tell you that YOU are the bad guy, it's not going to cause some major life changing revelation, it's going to piss you off. What I think WOULD have worked better is this: Peter giving Flash a reason you suck speech that just eviscerates Flash and makes him just sit down and cry. Peter goes on to see Aunt May and runs into Gwen and it's here that we get the speech...with Gwen, a close FRIEND of Peter's, sitting down with him and talking to him about his problems. It should be a real, tearjerker, tug at your heartstrings moment that really wakes Peter up to what's wrong with him. After a few minutes of sitting in silence with Aunt May, Peter knows what he has to do and leaves to get rid of the Symbiote. While he was sitting with Aunt May, have Gwen encounter Flash downstairs and just talk to him. Flash tries to play it cool but thanks Gwen for her concern anyway. Once the Symbiote is off and seemingly gone (Though, really, just attaching itself to Eddie) There is a scene of Peter encountering Flash alone at school and apologizing for what he said, Symbiote or no, Peter feels he crossed the line. Flash apologizes for his own behavior, having woken up to what an asshole he's been and he and Peter start to mend bridges.

BAM! Payback, a Karma Houdini turned into an Atoner, Character Development, foreshadowing of Peter and Flash being friends as little kids and it also helps set up Flash saving Gwen during the Venom fight.

MAN I'M GOOD!

Do not get me wrong, I LOVE Spectacular, but, I personally feel Flash was allowed to get away with far too much. When you make him a criminal in the first episode (And YES assault, harassment, stealing food and shoes, which it's mentioned he has done constantly, is criminal behavior. Not to mention bullshit like throwing a football at a teacher and getting away with no problems and throwing water balloons at Peter in full daylight and view of others) it's kinda hard to not want Peter to just slap him down and tell him to shut up.
